When did Girls Maxi Dresses Become The Next Big Thing?

Holy moly, was I asleep at the wheel for a few months? I feel like Rip Van Winkle, finally waking up after a hundred years only to discover that everyone is dressing differently these days. The reason why I say this is because I took my daughter shopping for clothes this weekend, and it seemed like every story in the mall had the same thing in their windows: Girls maxi dresses are the next big thing. The maxi seems to be hugely popular, especially for summer, because they are super comfortable. They look cool and they feel that way too!

Everything old is new again. All the fun styles from the 1970s are making a comeback, and the maxi dress seems to be part of that. Of course, the prints and fabrics have been updated. And some of the hem lines have been altered a little, but it's basically the same maxi that I wore as a little girl back in the day. None of your business when. A girl never tells. You will have to steal my drivers license if you want to know that badly. Naturally, my girl just had to have one. We stopped into a few stores, but none of their dresses were quite right. My little girl is a little like Goldilocks. This one's too itchy, this one's too tight, etc. But knowing how once everything is on trend, they tend to be sold everywhere, I told her we'd find her a great maxi dress when we got home.

So we dialed up the old world wide web, and entered "maxi dress for girls" in our Google search engine. One of the top brands to come up was this place called TwirlyGirl. OMG y'all! They have the cutest website. First of all, all of their dresses come with a cute poem or story. It was so much fun to just poke around their site just to read their content. Secondly, every single one of their girls dresses are manufactured right here in the United States of America. How rare is that? It makes me feel good to support our local economy. But I also like knowing that I'm paying for quality. Believe me, I'd much rather pay a little more for a quality dress, then save a few bucks only have the thing turn to rags after a few washes. That's super important to me and my girls.

We did have one problem on their website. All of their girls dresses were so cute, we couldn't decide which one to get.
